Boston Securities Traders Association (BSTA) Cares
Partnering with Local Companies to Feed Homeless VeteransThe Boston Securities Traders Association (BSTA), along with Drexel Hamilton and b.good restaurants, provided dinner for over 200 Veterans at the New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV) on Wednesday, August 26th 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The BSTA is a financial industry group of over 700 members that consist of traders, vendors, analysts and other financial professionals. The BSTA has worked with many local charities over the years and this year have partnered with NECHV to help out these very special men and women who have served our country and need our help.
Drexel Hamilton was an obvious choice for the BSTA’s first Veterans Dinner. Drexel Hamilton is a service-disabled veteran owned firm that provides training, licensing and meaningful employment opportunities to service-disabled veterans who are interested in entering the financial industry. We are very excited to start this Veteran Dinner program with Drexel Hamilton as our sole sponsor. Their Boston office is led by Boston trader Rick Gill, who is a former BSTA president (2001) and board member for many years and Michael Melignano. BSTA expects to have other Drexel Hamilton management as well in Boston to help serve our Veterans.
b.good is a local healthy fast food restaurant that does amazing charitable work and serves some of the tastiest food in the city. They were another great choice given their hometown roots and their charitable ways. Committed to serving “real” food, b.good believes that means showing customers how food is made, what’s in it, and where it comes from. Through their foundation, b.good donates quarterly micro-grants to inspired local folks who want to make a difference in our city. Meanwhile, b.good also forges partnerships with local schools to bring real food to kids who may not always have access to it.
