Home > Governor Baker Visits NECHV to Accept the Brian A. Brooks Distinguished Service to Veterans Award

The New England Center and Home for Veterans was honored to welcome Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker to the Center to present him with the Brian A. Brooks Distinguished Service to Veterans Award.

Governor Baker was announced as the recipient of the award at the 2017 Leave No One Behind (LNOB) Gala, and visited the Center to accept it on May 24, 2018. The award recognizes an individual who exemplifies the NECHV mission through services for and support of Veterans.

In addition to NECHV CEO Andy McCawley and NECHV staff, James Carmody, General Manager of the Seaport Hotel and LNOB Event Committee Chair, and Betty Brooks, wife of the late Brian A. Brooks, a founder and co-chair of LNOB for whom the award is named, were also in attendance. Following the award presentation, the Governor toured the facility, stopping along the tour to meet and talk with Veterans.

We were so pleased to have the opportunity to present Governor Baker with this award, and we are grateful for his longstanding support of the Center and the Veterans we serve.
