Home > Moving Day: Veterans Find Permanent Homes at 17 Court Street

In May of 2015, ground was broken on NECHV’s Permanent Supportive Housing and Recapitalization Project, an extensive renovation and restoration designed to expand housing and services at the Center. The project involved the construction of 37 new apartments that provide permanent homes for Veterans, and this December, two major milestones were reached just in time for the holidays: all 37 apartments were completed, and 37 Veterans were able to move into their new homes.

Bright and open, the new apartments offer Veterans spectacular views of City Hall Plaza and the surrounding area. Seven of the new units are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and there is a separate floor with seven apartments exclusively for female Veterans.

A permanent home at the Center allows Veterans to live independently and with dignity, and provides them with full and easy access to supportive services offered by NECHV. We are thrilled for these Veterans who now have homes of their own, and are so thankful to our public and private partners who have helped to make this possible.
