The Recovery and Post-Detox Stabilization Program is a specifically designed and continuously demonstrated effective program to provide structure and accountability in early recovery and allows each Veteran to continue to work towards individual goals to improve their lives and self-care. This is a process involving clinical assistance in modifying attitudes and behaviors related to substance use and increasing life skills to handle stressful circumstances and environmental cues that may trigger intense craving for drugs and prompt additional cycles of compulsive use.

Clinical staff provides psycho-education and counseling in both group and individual formats. Topics include relapse prevention techniques to help people recognize, avoid, and cope with situations in which they are likely to use drugs, and coping skills that introduce strategies to evoke rapid and internally motivated behavior change to stop drug use and facilitate treatment entry.
