Merrimack Valley Expansion

The New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV) has announced a strategic partnership and Veteran service consolidation initiative with the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center (VNEOC). This partnership initiative is designed to expand and improve the support and service programs available for Veterans experiencing challenges in the Merrimack Valley Region. The goal is to extend the current facility and service footprint of the NECHV’s nationally recognized programs and build upon the VNEOC’s outstanding regional legacy of service to Veterans in the community. The New England Center and Home for Veterans, Merrimack Valley (NECHV MV) is assuming the operations, management and ownership of many of the VNEOC’s existing Veteran housing and support facilities and will work with national, State, local and community partners to create additional resources for Veterans.

The NECHV MV’s programs of service will reflect the same accessibility, excellence, and effectiveness as those provided through its flagship facility in Downtown Boston. The NECHV’s community-based Veteran service programs, including its U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Supportive Services for Veterans and Families (SSVF) and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans Services, Housing Outreach-to-Placement Effort (HOPE) programs have expanded significantly in the Merrimack Valley Region in recent years, and helped point to the value of this partnership with the VNEOC.

The NECHV and VNEOC have both been serving Veterans since the mid-1980s and have a strong history of collaboration and service coordination. This partnership is the next logical step to ensure that every Veteran who has served this nation has a home to live in with independence and dignity, and to achieve the goals of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ visionary End Veteran Homelessness campaign, launched by the Healey-Driscoll Administration in March 2024.

The leadership teams of the NECHV and the VNEOC have collaborated closely over the past ten months to ensure a smooth and seamless service consolidation. The initiative aims to maintain continuity in existing Veteran service programs while also moving forward to strengthen and expand future support.
