About Gift-a-Vet
Gift-a-Vet is the holiday gift giving program for Veterans being served by New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV) in Boston. NECHV serves over 1,000 Veterans annually, with needs that extend beyond the holiday season. Your direct donation to the Gift-a-Vet fund will ensure that Veterans are provided for throughout the year with all their essential needs.
Gift-a-Vet coordinates holiday gifts for transitional residents and their children, as well as Veterans in the permanent on-site living spaces (SROs), and Veteran families served by the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program.
For more information on the Gift-a-Vet program, please visit our FAQ’s page.
Gift Card Program
Gift cards are a wonderful and simple way to remember our Veterans during the holidays. By providing direct support through generous contributions of gift cards, your support provides Veterans with much-needed provisions beyond the holiday season and throughout the year.
To donate gift cards, please email Adrienne Kaplowitz, Philanthropic Officer, Community Engagement. Please be sure to tell us your full name, email, organization, and mailing address. Please also let us know the number of gift cards you would like to donate, and the types of cards you are interested in donating (major pharmacies, supermarkets, major retailers, or T-passes).
The following retailers are recommended:
- Major Pharmacies (CVS, Walgreens, etc.)
- Supermarkets (Stop and Shop, Roche Brothers, Star Market, etc.)
- Major Clothing Retailers (TJ Maxx/Marshalls, Target, Macy’s, etc.)
- T-Passes (set value amount; no weekly/monthly/yearly passes)
Gift-a-Vet Fund
Many people, in lieu of purchasing a gift, make a contribution to the Gift-a-Vet fund. This fund also makes a wonderful holiday tribute and/or memorial gift for loved ones and friends.
NECHV serves over 1,000 Veterans annually, with needs that extend beyond the holiday season. Your direct donation to the Gift-a-Vet fund will ensure that Veterans are provided for throughout the year with all their essential needs.
Thank you for your support!
