Make A Tribute Gift

Losing a loved one is a time of reflection. It is also an opportunity to create a lasting tribute to honor one’s life, military service, and accomplishments. Establishing a “Tribute Gift”, “Gifts In Lieu of Flowers” or “Charitable Gifts In Memory” is a dignified and fitting way to honor the life and legacy of a loved one. Tribute gifts will be acknowledged to the donor and next of kin within a week of receipt, and will begin serving Veterans immediately in downtown Boston.

We recommend you include the following language or similar in the obituary when requesting donations in memory of a loved one:

In lieu of flowers, kindly make a memorial donation in the deceased’s name to the New England Center and Home for Veterans, 17 Court Street, PO Box 845257, Boston, MA 02284-5257.

To be acknowledged as a tribute donor, be sure to include the name of the honoree when you submit your gifts by mail or online. You can also include the contact information for anyone you wish to notify of your gift, including family members of the deceased, and the Center will send an acknowledgement letter on your behalf. The New England Center and Home for Veterans is pleased to announce that the annual Greater Boston Stand Down will take place on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Boston City Hall Plaza. This yearly event brings together community providers and Veterans in one place to provide Veterans easy access to services and employment opportunities.

As in past years, over 100 service providers, employers, and community organizations are expected to turn out and provide essential supportive services, including housing assistance, medical care and wellness programs, legal support and employment assistance. Veterans will also be able to enjoy a free lunch and live entertainment.

Veteran service hours are from 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM. You must bring proof of service. DD214 is acceptable.
