The NECHV Earns 3-Year Accreditation from CARF International

The New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV), a national leader in housing and serving Veterans who are at risk of homelessness, recently received a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International, an agency committed to excellence in rehabilitation facilities. The accreditation represents the New England Center and Home for Veterans’ commitment to strict conformance to CARF standards and a rigorous peer review process.

“Working with the CARF accreditation process allowed us to feel validated and proud of our current service delivery, and helped us understand how to bring our services to a higher level of best practice and excellence,” states Marta Budu-Arthur, MSW, LICSW, Director of Community Stabilization Services for NECHV.  The three-year accreditation is the highest a facility can earn.

“The New England Center and Home for Veterans, through the dedicated efforts of its skilled employees, leaders and supporters is committed to providing quantifiably excellent services to Veterans entrusted to us. A three-year accreditation from CARF is a demonstration of that excellence and something which we have every reason to be proud of,” said Andy McCawley, NECHV President and CEO.

“The Center willingly sought the strict scrutiny of CARF and we are honored to have achieved this accreditation,” he added. The NECHV provides meals and houses 280 Veterans at the downtown Boston facility each day, and works with 530 veterans in their home communities each year with in-home support services to help keep them housed and successful. Each year nearly 200 Veterans find permanent homes with help from the NECHV.
