Annual Freedom Fighters and Boston Bruins Alumni Game
The Boston Bruins Alumni, a non-profit organization made up of past players of the Boston Bruins, will play the Freedom Fighters of Stoneham in their fourth annual hockey matchup to benefit Veterans on Saturday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the Stoneham Arena, 101 Montvale Avenue, Stoneham. All proceeds of the game will be donated to the New England Center and Home for Veterans.
The Freedom Fighters team was created in 2012 by Frank Scioli, a Stoneham resident and longtime hockey player who wanted to give back to the nation’s Veterans by organizing a benefit game against former Bruins greats. He reached out to 16 friends who joined him on the team for the game, which is now in its fourth year.
We are so grateful for their support, and look forward to a fun and exciting event!
Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. For more information, or to purchase tickets or program ad space, please contact Frank Scioli at freedomfightershockey@yahoo.com or at 617-902-3148.
Below is the Freedom Fighters roster for game day. You can see the Boston Bruins Alumni team roster here, including such players as Ray Bourque and current NESN Boston Bruins analyst Andy Brickley!
